Educational Modules for Ventilator Training

Intended Audience: These modules are designed to refresh and reinvigorate physicians who have had some ICU experience in training and have but who have not personally managed a ventilator or been in critical care during their usual practice.

Module I: Physiology Refresher

Complete the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) modules for Mechanical Ventilation from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM):

Module II: Protocol Education

Upon completion of Module I, review guidelines for ventilator management:

Module III: Mechanical Refresher

After reviewing the guidelines for ventilator management, watch a recorded Zoom session (video and slides below):

Module IV: Putting it All Together

Complete an in-person check off with a critical care attending prior to redeployment.  (Could also be done in person upon redeployment.)
